Health Deptt Recruitment Under Scrutiny: Alleged Irregularities in ASHA Facilitator Selection in Bhawarna Block

The Health Department of block Bhwarna, Himachal Pradesh is facing serious allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of six ASHA Facilitators in Bhawarna block, carried out last year under the supervision of the then SDM of Palampur.
According to sources, several candidates selected for the posts allegedly submitted forged documents, including fake computer diplomas, falsified age and experience certificates, and questionable Plus Two qualifications. These discrepancies have raised concerns about the legitimacy of the recruitment process.
Locals claim that genuine and qualified candidates were overlooked, while undeserving individuals were favoured through partiality and manipulation of criteria. “The selection process appeared to be biased.
The minimum requirements were basic literacy, valid computer training, and relevant experience – but those standards were seemingly compromised,” it is learnt. Qualifications were also compromised.
Demands are mounting for a formal enquiry into the matter. “We urge the authorities to verify all submitted documents and take action against any malpractice.
Transparency is essential in public service appointments,” stated Rajesh Suryavanshi, Chairmen of SHMAC. AND a local social worker.
The issue MUST be reviewed by the current SDM of Netri, who may initiate an investigation. If the allegations hold, the recruitment process could be nullified and redone based on merit and official norms.
This controversy has cast a shadow over the credibility of the Health Department’s recruitment mechanisms, underlining the need for stricter oversight in hiring for grassroots health positions like ASHA Facilitators.
