Sood Sabha Palampur Holds Sixth Plantation Drive on Senior Citizens’ Day

On the occasion of Senior Citizens’ Day, Sood Sabha Palampur organized the plantation of medicinal and herbal plants at Sitaram Park, Palampur Municipal Corporation. This was the sixth plantation program successfully conducted by the Sabha this season.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Ashish Sharma, Additional Commissioner Vikas Sharma, and Deputy Mayor Raj Kumar were present on the occasion.
Dr. Ashish Sharma emphasized that tree plantation is essential for maintaining environmental balance.
He added that in view of the increasing incidents of cloudbursts and floods in Himachal Pradesh in recent years, citizens must come forward to plant more trees and adopt every possible measure to protect the environment.
Speaking on behalf of Sood Sabha, Dr. Ashok Sood said that the Sabha is committed to keeping Palampur as “green and clean” as it has always been, and the plantation drives are a step in this direction.
Former Municipal Council Chairperson Mrs. Radha Sood was also present along with Sabha members including Dr. Ashok Sood, Ajit Baghla, Devender Sood, Gopal Sood, Rajan Sood, Manoj Kumar Sood, Sona Sood, and Kamlesh Sood.
The program concluded with special remembrance of the Sabha’s Founder President, Mr. B. K. Sood. He had founded Sood Sabha during the peak of the Covid crisis and got it registered with the SDM, Palampur in 2021, with the aim of supporting the suffering sections of society.
His vision and commitment to social welfare united the community under one platform.
Mr. Sood’s tireless efforts in helping the needy, extending financial aid for medical treatment of the sick, and initiating environmental protection activities laid the foundation of Sood Sabha. His legacy continues to inspire the Sabha to work tirelessly for the welfare of all sections of society.
